Founded in 1981 KRPOA promotes advocacy through various strategies & activities aimed at representing interests of Kingston landlords.

Lobbying & Legislative Advocacy: monitors legislative developments & tracks proposed bylaws & regulations that impact landlords & mobilize members to respond.

Public Awareness: provides press releases, social media campaigns, interviews & articles to highlight the challenges & contributions of landlords.

Member Engagement & Support: hosts networking events, provides educational materials, organizes meetings, & social events to foster connections.

Coalition Building: partners with organizations like housing advocacy groups, provincial & national associations plus real estate organizations to find common ground & work towards shared goals.

Grassroots Mobilization: mobilizes members to participate in demonstrations to draw attention to key issues along with petitions & letter-writing campaigns.

Community Engagement: participates in or sponsors local initiatives that improve neighborhoods & demonstrate the positive role of landlords in the community while promoting good practices in tenant-landlord relationships to build trust & cooperation.

By employing these strategies, KRPOA can effectively advocate for the interests of landlords, influence decisions, & improve Kingston’s rental housing market.

Membership is open to landlords, property managers, superintendents, as well as professionals & vendors who supply services to the rental property community.
